'Really unhappy':£80m player is now getting seriously annoyed he's not signed for Chelsea yet - journalist. Moises Caicedo is said to be growing very frustrated at the fact Brighton are yet to agree a deal with Chelsea.

That is according to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports. So, what is the latest on Moises Caicedo and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Fabrizio Romano – the Blues are going to submit an improved bid for the Ecuador international this week, worth around £80m. A story from The Athletic adds that Chelsea have put a serious amount of groundwork into completing a deal to sign Caicedo, and have already managed to agree personal terms with the precocious midfielder.

Despite that, Brighton are standing firm on their valuation, as the Telegraph believe the Seagulls now want around £100m for the South American, having seen Declan Rice move to Arsenal for £105m. Now – according to Jacobs – Caicedo himself is becoming quite agitated at Brighton, and is returning to the Amex Stadium for pre-season this week expecting progress to be made swiftly.

The aforementioned Romano believes the 21-year-old has a gentleman’s agreement with Roberto De Zerbi which allows him to leave Brighton this summer, after the Seagulls denied him a move to Arsenal in January. Caicedo needs to help Chelsea

It is good news – from a Chelsea perspective – that Caicedo is becoming annoyed at the situation, as the Blues may need help from the Ecuadorian. Brighton are tough to negotiate with, and are also not in need of the money, meaning they have no requirement to lower their demands.

As a result, Caicedo may need to submit an official transfer request, or even go on strike during pre-season, to help Chelsea get this deal over the line. If the Brighton No.25 doesn’t start to push for the move, then we could see this saga drag on throughout the summer.
