Mauricio Pochettino Speaks Out On Mykhailo Mudryk And Levi Colwill Situations At Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino states that he must have conversations with Mykhailo Mudryk and Levi Colwill before making any decisions about their futures at Chelsea.

Chelsea managed to secure the signing of Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk for a significant £88.5 million during the January transfer window, beating out strong competition from Arsenal.

However, the young 22-year-old player has faced difficulties in making a notable impact since joining Stamford Bridge. Throughout last season, he only managed to provide two assists in 17 appearances.

Nonetheless, Mudryk showcased his abilities and left a positive impression while representing Ukraine at the Under-21 European Championship this summer. Pochettino is now eager to devise a strategy that will enable the winger to flourish and succeed at Chelsea. When asked about Mudryk’s situation at Chelsea, Pochettino said:

“It’s really important to spend time to talk. “I’m going to meet him before he comes to pre-season. I really like to see and to know him, and then to design the best strategy to help him to be at the level that Chelsea expect.”

Recently, there has been significant speculation surrounding Colwill, with Brighton already having their £30 million bid for the 20-year-old rejected by Chelsea in the previous month.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City have also shown interest in acquiring Colwill’s services. He has yet to commit to a new contract offered by Chelsea, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Pochettino is particularly interested in having a conversation with the defender, who played a crucial part in England’s triumph at the Under-21 European Championship earlier this summer.

“I need to get a feel for him,” Pochettino said when asked about Colwill. “I need to hear what he has in his mind. What he expects. And then, of course, for him to listen to what I expect from him.”
