KYLIAN MBAPPE is excited to see Christopher Nkunku in action for Chelsea. The Frenchman is mates with the Blues' latest forward star. Mbappe and Nkunku played together at Paris Saint- Germain, prior to the latter's 2019 RB Leipzig switch.
Following Nkunku's brilliant form in Germany, the former PSG pals reprised their friendship in the French national team. The 25-year-old managed 23 goals for RB Leipzig last term, despite sustaining an injury that would rule him out of the World Cup.
He agreed a move to Chelsea last November, which was finally formally announced last month . Nkunku joined up with his new Blues team-mates at Cobham this week. Yesterday he posted a snap of himself training with Chelsea to Instagram. He captioned it:
"First session with the lads." Old PSG pal Mbappe was among the first to comment on the post. The forward, 24, wrote: "I'm going to get my popcorn."
Nkunku also received plenty of nice comments from team-mates past and present. Followed by a heart-eyes emoji, Ben Chilwell wrote: "In the building."
While international colleague Marcus Thuram commented: "I'm a fan." Reece James added: "Lezgooo!" And Trevoh Chalobah left the message: "CNK". Young Chelsea star Ian Maatsen called Nkunku: "Big boss."
The Blues are set to fly out to the United States on Monday for their pre-season tour. They will first head to North Carolina, where Nkunku and Co will face League Two Wrexham . Chelsea are then scheduled to play Brighton in Philadelphia, Newcastle in Atlanta, Fulham in Maryland and Borussia Dortmund in Chicago.
