Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has now sent a message to Dele Alli after his interview was published today. The Argentine took to Instagram to send his love to a player he used to manage at Tottenham, alongside a picture of both of them from back then.
It was an emotional interview given by Alli to Gary Neville on The Overlap, where he spoke about some of the trauma that he has gone through both in recent years or as a child. His career on the pitch has certainly struggled as a result. He hardly featured at Everton before finding himself on loan in Turkey, a move which was cut short early.
One manager he certainly did succeed under is Pochettino. The England international looked one of the most promising players in the world during his tenure. Pochettino message to Alli Together, the duo reached the Champions League final in 2019, however fell short at the hands of Liverpool.
Now, the Argentine and new Chelsea boss has taken to social media as one of many in the game who have showed their support for Alli. The discussion with Neville left many hoping the Englishman finds a way back into the game, after all the support and help he needs after what has happened.
Chelsea fans may remember how good he was against them when playing for Tottenham, with him being a key part in the side which ended their multi-year winless run at Stamford Bridge. Pochettino is set to travel with his new team this weekend to the United States for a host of friendlies, starting with next week’s match against Wrexham.
