Fresh Moises Caicedo bid rejected amid Enzo Fernandez hint

Moises Caicedo bid rejected

Chelsea have been dealt another major blow to their hopes of signing Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to further bolster his midfielder options.

football.london understands that the Blues have seen a new bid for Caicedo in the last 24 hours rejected. Chelsea's offer was immediately turned down despite the Ecuador international's desire to leave the Amex Stadium, with reports claiming the offer was worth around £80million. Brighton are committed to keeping the player unless their valuation is met.

Despite the Seagulls' stubborn stance, the west Londoners remain determined to sign Caicedo, who has recently confirmed his desire to join the club. While Chelsea once looked well positioned to secure the Ecuadorian's signature, they're running out of time with the new season set to commence in nearly two weeks.

Dybala decision

Chelsea's interest in Paulo Dybala could be halted this summer as recent reports claim the playmaker is set to sign a new contract with AS Roma in the coming weeks. The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in a move that could help improve their goal scoring issues.

The Blues scored just 38 goals in 38 Premier League games last season, with new head coach Mauricio Pochettino looking to turn things around.

The additions of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson has added to the options available to the manager, but there could be further reinforcements. Dybala has been one of those linked with a move, with reports claiming a release clause in his deal could see him move for roughly £10million.

Fernandez hint

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez may have dropped a hint towards the hierarchy over a move for a new midfield partner in the summer transfer window. He liked a post from TheBlueDodger that said:

"It would be a travesty if we didn't give Enzo Fernandez a proper platform to play his best game after spending so much getting him in. As good as some have been next to him, more is needed for the Premier League."

It remains to be seen whether the hierarchy will make a swift move to fix that issue and help Fernandez progress in his role, but time is ticking with the season approaching fast.
