Caicedo bid rejected
Chelsea have been dealt a major setback in the race to sign Moises Caicedo this summer. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge recently, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to further bolster his midfield options .
According to The Athletic , the Blues have seen a bid worth £70million turned down by Roberto De Zerbi's side. The report states that the offer, which did not include add-ons, was submitted in writing on Monday and rejected.
It's believed that the Blues' pursuit shall continue and the Seagulls are prepared for his potential exit, providing that their asking price is met. Last month, The Athletic suggested that Brighton were seeking £100million for Caicedo given that he penned a new long-term deal in March.
Fofana setback
Wesley Fofana has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, football.london understands, and the defender will require surgery on the problem. The 22-year-old defender did not travel with the rest of his teammates as they undergo their pre-season tour of the United States following a knee injury he suffered.
He has undergone a scan on the problem and the results are devastating for the centre-back. Fofana has been extremely unfortunate with injury problems in recent seasons. In the summer of 2021, while playing in a friendly for former club Leicester City against Villarreal, Fofana broke his leg and was then ruled out for over seven months.
The France international returned in March 2022 and played the remainder of the season for the Foxes before sealing an £80million move to Chelsea a few months later.
Aubameyang deal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to finally bring an end to his miserable stay at Chelsea. Under Graham Potter, the Gabon international struggled to impress and he was eventually dropped from the Champions League squad following an influx of new signings in January.
Even under Frank Lampard, Aubameyang's nightmare continued as he barely featured for Chelsea. While the former Arsenal captain is contractually obliged to remain in west London until the end of next season, he's expected to leave in the coming days.
According to RMC Sport, as quoted by the Mirror , Aubameyang has agreed a two-year deal with Marseille, which includes the option of a third season. The report states that the French giants are currently in talks with the Blues as they look to formalise a transfer.
