CHELSEA star Thiago Silva reveals he begged Paulo Dybala to join the Blues when he bumped into him at the British Grand Prix. The football stars joined a star-studded paddock at Silverstone that included Brad Pitt , Cara Delevigne and Romeo Beckham .
Silva, 38, stopped for a chat in the paddock and revealed Dybala responded to his transfer plea. The defender told Sky Sports: “I saw Paulo Dybala here, they talk about him at Chelsea. I hope he arrives.
"I’ve talked with him and asked him if he is coming, he answered me, but I can’t say what he told me.”
Reports in Italy this week claimed Chelsea were considering a move for Dybala, who scored 18 goals in his debut season at Roma after joining last summer. Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a big fan of his compatriot, who could be available this summer. That's because Dybala is believed to have a buyout clause in his contract worth just £10million for foreign clubs.
Roma boss Jose Mourinho was asked about the clause and he played down the transfer speculation. Mourinho said:
"I don’t know anything about his contract. But obviously I talk to Paulo like I do with all of my players."
Roma are also reported to be plotting a new contract offer for Dybala, which could see the Argentine's salary increase by £1.7million. Manchester United and Newcastle have also been credited with interest in Dybala this year but did not make a bid for the 29-year-old.
