Man Utd set for announcement impacting Chelsea as Kylian Mbappe transfer takes late twist

Chelsea transfer warning

Chelsea could be heavily impacted by the seemingly incoming announcement of Manchester United's preferred takeover bidder. The Red Devils are set to name their favoured candidate to buy the club from the Glazers in the coming days.

With Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim leading the way and hotly tipped to become the new owner, Chelsea have been sent a stark warning that their transfer activity might not be able to continue. As a member of the Qatari royal family and with his father having previously been chairman of the owners at Paris Saint- Germain, Sheikh Jassim is an extremely wealthy man. His funds may well have the power to deny the Blues transfer freedom.

Mbappe controversy

Kylian Mbappe has hit back at suggestions that he wants to join Real Madrid this summer after it emerged that he was not going to be signing a new extension to his current deal. The PSG star's current deal ends in 2024 but he has written to the club informing them that he won't be triggering an extra one-year option.

It has opened the door to a move elsewhere with both Chelsea and Real Madrid among the interested parties. The Blues are set to be heavily impacted by Mbappe's decision no matter what happens. With knock-on effects for the club set to create transfer dilemmas in the market, it is a move that Chelsea are monitoring closely.

Pochettino to consider eight deals

Mauricio Pochettino is set to consider the loan status of at least eight Chelsea stars this summer as he also plans for the loss of at least 10 other players on permanent deals. With Levi Colwill and Romelu Lukaku set to return from their temporary stints away, there are two major decisions to be made on their future as Brighton press for a transfer of the former. Elsewhere a group of young players including Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Andrey Santos will all need to finalise their plans in order to best progress for the club.
